“If everyone fought for their own convictions there would be no war.” ― Leo Tolstoy, War and Peace
”At this time of year when “to-do” lists get longer by the day, I wanted to share with you this image of the Wisdom Buddha Akshobya. I recently learned from a Tibetan colleague about the Five Wisdom Buddhas, which represent various physical and mental aspects of the enlightened mind. Akshobya represents mirror-like wisdom which is the mind’s ability to see reality just as it is without clinging or aversion. Tibetan Buddhists believe that calling on Akshobya in meditation can help to overcome anger, hatred and stressful feelings, which have a way of popping up at this time of year.
If you meditate, perhaps you will evoke Akshobya this holiday season, but if you don’t, maybe this image can serve as a reminder of our gratitude for you and the good work you have made possible through your support this year. Either way, I hope this piece of wisdom from the Tibetan culture is helpful to you, as it has been for me.
With gratitude and wishes of peace this holiday season,
Director of Development”
This quote is from an email I received, I thought it might help you, and ask again that you support Tibet in whatever way you can.
